5 Essential Tools for an Organized Kitchen

I LOVE organizing kitchens- it is probably my favorite room in a house to organize! But I know how much stress it causes most of my clients. Over the last 9 years of organizing kitchens, I have used many different type of bins, boxes, and baskets... and spent countless hours at The Container Store perusing the aisles in search of the perfect bin. They offer the BEST solutions to minimize clutter and create beautiful, functional spaces.

The Container Store (NYSE:TCS) has a great mission: "To provide order to an increasingly busy and chaotic world." And this is exactly what I hope to achieve for my clients. With SO many options, it's difficult to pick just a few of my favorite organizing kitchen solutions, but these 5 essentials stand the test of time.

White Plastic Storage Bins with Handles

This simple, sleek and affordable container will hold whatever you need to organize in your pantry.  From chips to nuts or coffee gets the job done.

Expandable Bamboo Cutlery Tray

One of the most common mistakes I see in the kitchen is using the wrong size containers. It's best to use the entire space by taking measurements and then purchasing the container to fit exactly. This sleek bamboo tray has adjustable sides that ensure you are maximizing every inch of your drawer space.

Clear Handled Storage Baskets

These simple clear baskets with handles are great for storing like-items together. They are light and easy to handle. Use them to store baking goods, medicine, straws... the possibilities are endless!

Large Expand-A-Shelf

I'm always shocked when a pantry DOESN'T have this. This is an absolute must, especially if you collect can goods. Which a lot of my clients seem to do! I like this particular one because it has a wider depth and allows for larger cans to sit neatly.

Wall & Door Lid Rack

One of the most common issues in a kitchen, besides Tupperware chaos, which I will address at a later date- is how to contain lids for pots and pans. These affordable lid racks are mounted inside a cabinet and free up space inside the cabinet for more important items.
